Candy's Cooking Class Candy is known for her delicious potluck dishes and was practically begged to organize a cooking class. Finally, the class came to fruition on Thursday, March 21, 2013. As you can tell from the pics, it was a full house. The men, who were having their own meeting, were able to benefit from being at the right place, at the right time. |

This year our kids decided to take part in planting and maintaining a garden via CDCG (Capital District Community Gardens). Keep checking our site to follow us as we watch it grow. We've planted: Peppers, Yellow Squash, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Basil, Watermelon, Broccoli, Onions, Butternut Squash and Red Cabbage.....yummmm

Children's Day 2011
In April of 2011 the children of the Joy of Troy led out in all aspects of the Divine Service - from greeting members at the door to singing and preaching. They even performed a skit - with the theme of 'Never Turning Back'.

The Men's Ministry of the Joy of Troy Church holds an annual Sunday breakfast brunch for the women.

2011 New Year's Communion
On New Year's Eve a number of the churches in the Capital District got together to take part in a communion and foot-washing service.

Apple Picking and Dessert Making Social
We took about 20 children out to pick apples, and then came back to the church for lunch. After lunch we all joined in and made Apple Crisp, Apple Bread, Applesauce and Apple Pie......the desserts were so good we forgot to get pictures of them ....maybe next year :-)

Each year the Joy of Troy holds an Annual Christmas Dinner where we invite members and guests to dine with us and celebrate the life of Christ.

VBS 2009
Theme: Rome and the Underground Church. Children visited Paul under house arrest in Rome and the Underground Church and learned how they had to depend on God during persecution. At least 21 children were in attendance.

Father Daughter Brunch 2009
The Joy of Troy joined arms with the Capital City SDA Church to host the 1st Annual Father Daughter Brunch.

Howe Caverns 2009
In April of 2009 the Children's Ministry held an outing at Howe Caverns. There were about 15 children and 8 adults in attendance.

VBS 2008
Theme: Castles and Crowns. At least 10 Children were in attendance to learn about characteristics of God through the stories of kings and queens in the Bible.

Revival 2007
In the Fall of 2007 the New York Conference of Seventh-Day Adventist held a multi-site revival in the Capital District.
